VOICE OVER IP SOLUTIONS

More enterprises migrate to Voice over IP (VoIP) to take advantage of the cost savings gained by converging voice and data traffic onto a single network structure. However, the ability of a network to support high-quality VoIP calls and the configuration of various hardware and software considerations are important to ensure caller satisfaction.

QoS Communications’s collective understanding and delivery capability in all aspects of converged communications makes us a leader in this market. Our knowledge of network architecture and IP technology is combined with expertise in business realities. We also have a breadth of experience in data and voice. Our knowledge of voice, both in the IP and legacy space, and skills to migrate traditional voice onto IP networks, are invaluable in our plan, build and support approach of VoIP infrastructures.

IP Convergence Surveyor

This Surveyor is an effective tool to assist our clients in converging their network to support VoIP calls. It is a consultative analysis which begins with our system engineers gathering information such as telephone bills, call patterns, the existing technology already in place – all the issues required to determine how long distance calls can be cut and carrier charges rationalised. The information is then analysed and we make future recommendations based on the outcome of the analysis.

We utilise the findings of the Surveyor as a roadmap to design and build an optimal VoIP architecture for your company, incorporating the following:

  • Preparing the WAN for VoIP which involves Quality of Service (QoS) and bandwidth sizing;

  • Ensure that your voice infrastructure technology is enabled for IP; and

  • Build the enterprise dial plan, ensuring that it is logical, consistent and easy to use.

Our services are topped with a support component. We manage your network infrastructure to ensure that the QoS and bandwidth have been implemented and remain consistent and suitable for the application.

BANDWIDTH OPTIMISATION

Enterprises continue to implement mission critical bandwidth-hungry, enterprise-wide applications. Users also demand greater availability, faster application and network speeds, and even more applications. As a result, bandwidth is being squeezed by these massive applications and the concurrent burden of demanding users.

Purchasing more and more bandwidth is certainly not a solution. Companies need to look at avenues to utilise existing bandwidth more effectively. There are a myriad of technologies to enable you to flexibly allocate bandwidth according to the most important business imperatives.

QoS Communications’s Bandwidth Optimisation solution consolidates best-of-breed caching, Quality of Service (QoS), compression and network monitoring/ reporting technologies, into a single solution that looks at bandwidth usage in its entirety and makes recommendations on how best to optimise bandwidth. It consists of the following items:

Traffic Profiling Surveyor
One of our professional consultants utilises specialist tools to analyse and classify your network traffic. They also analyse the protocol mix and usage patterns of network traffic and help you to understand and detail the network design, while providing a blueprint for bandwidth optimisation.

Optimisation Technologies
Following the Surveyor recommendations and blueprint, we implement traffic shaping/ QoS technologies to improve the behaviour of fluctuating applications, which are detrimental to the applications’ performance. We increase your network capacity by means of compression and caching. This is ideally suited for applications with repetitive data like intranet, Citrix, email, and ERP applications. We also help you to understand the relationship between transactional data and content, using caching to proposition content, thus further reducing bandwidth.

Ongoing Assessment
Network traffic is constantly changing, new applications are being deployed on the network, and branch offices are being opened or closed. Once an optimal bandwidth design has been implemented, QoS Communications conducts regular traffic profiling to ensure that the initial design is still delivering optimal results

Security Management

The prevalence of Microsoft operating systems makes them a favourite target for malicious attack from external sources. Additionally, since most attacks on corporate systems occur from within the business, it is imperative that organisational desktop and server environments are protected.

Enterprise systems need to be designed with security in mind.  These systems then need to be continuously monitored, patched and tested to ensure that they remain secure.  QoS Communications has hundreds of man-years of experience designing, deploying and secure enterprise computing environments, especially Microsoft operating environments. We deliver a complete security lifecycle offering to our client base.

Our approach to security is holistic and comprises an approach that includes:

  • Ensuring that systems are secure by design.  We believe that security is a core design principle, not an element that can be added on after the design has been completed.

  • Protecting systems by ensuring that the right people, processes and technologies are in place to help ensure that data is accessible only to trusted users, and that systems are configured properly and updated as needed to assist in keeping unauthorised users out;

  • Detecting attempted intrusions, violations of security, operational problems, unexpected behaviour, or pre-failure indications;

  • Defending systems by taking automatic corrective action when a security violation occurs or is suspected;

  • Recovering computers that have been compromised, are suspect, or have failed depends on having the right systems and processes in place to restore a machine and its data to a last known good state while minimising its downtime; and

  • Managing and coordinating patch management to ensure that clients continuously receive the right level of updates to enable you to maintain operational efficiency and effectiveness, overcome security vulnerabilities, and maintain the stability of your production environment.

Our systematic approach to deploying and maintaining a Microsoft environment, coupled with a comprehensive set of Security offerings will provide you with the peace-of-mind that your Microsoft environment is secure.
